This is the title of a new Expert Paper which has been published by DVV International. It is based on a study looking at theoretical implications as well as practical experiences, especially from the cooperation with partners worldwide.

Citizenship education, active citizenship, global citizenship education - all these are concepts which are currently debated in the context of democratic development and participation of people in a world of crisis and an unstable future.

It is also interesting to note that the UNESCO Institute of Lifelong Learning (UIL) is in the process of the 5th Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE) which thematically this time looks into active citizenship. It is due to be published alongside CONFINTEA VII in Marrakech 15-17 June 2022.
